Pioneer Trek 2010

Brooke and I had the privilege of being a Ma & Pa for the stake pioneer trek this year. It was extremely difficult, but fun and rewarding as well. This is our family.
This is our mascot Derrick.
This is our group pulling and pushing the handcart up Testimony Hill aka The Widow Maker.

The girls were left to pull/push the handcart for approximately 2 miles up and down hills. Brooke was there with us helping.
The boys were sworn in to The Mormon Battalion.
A mob came and threatened us, and tried to take our lunches.
This was actually before we started the Trek, unaware of what was to come. It was definitely a faith building experience.
This was after the Trek was done. Fun, games, and relaxation. Some cool people we know rigged up this slip-n-slide with a couple of tarps and some water.

Last Day of School

Last day was nice and busy. 1st Caitlyn's promotion. Next was Ryan's Kindergarten Program. Then Kira's ice-cream party. I felt like a very involved parent. We finished our day swimming at grandma house. :)

5th Grade Promotion

I can't believe how fast Caitlyn is growing up. Today was her last elementary day. It was spent with a promotion ceremony. I'm so glad they didn't call it graduation. To me that is reserved for high school, and college. This is Caitlyn with her teacher and principal. She made Honor Roll. I'm not bragging, I'm just so proud of her.
This was Caitlyn just before they called her name.
This photo has the Honor Roll students standing.

Kira's Mexican Hat Dance

Kira is to the right of the guy in the center. She has a red poncho on. The next video is what Josh learned from watching his siblings do the dance at home. It's way cute, and funny!!!

Road Trip May 2010

I have much more to blog, but here is something for now...

The kids were excited for our new adventure.
Destination Todd & Aubrey's
We got to be there for Layla's Blessing.
A stop to the Valley of Fire. NOPE. I didn't purchase any fireworks. Apparently we're not allowed to celebrate our country in Cali. Boo!
Aren't they cute?
A view from a room in Aria, in Las Vegas. I'm trying to pick up the sky scraper.
A nice cool refreshment. mmm...
